This is about a 3.0 mile loop that is a gentle walk or small cycle ride. Walking will take you about an hour and 10 minutes and cycling about 25 minutes.

If you are already on the Coast to Coast trail then this is a great diversion off that trail to stop off at the Cornish Arms at Frogpool for a spot of lunch before circling back round to the Coast to Coast again.

Carnon viaduct carries the railway from Truro to Falmouth. The present nine-arch masonry viaduct replaces an earlier structure designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel for the Cornwall Railway. The original viaduct was opened to traffic when the line was extended from Truro to Falmouth in 1863 and had a timber deck supported by timber trestles springing from eleven masonry piers.
