The trail starts in the car park next to the rugby field and is a frequently used walk in the parish known as the Race Course. This walk should take about forty minutes.

Half way round you meet the junction to Kennall Vale marked by a listed Milestone. Kennall Vale is part of the World Heritage Mining Site included because of the former gunpowder and fuse making mills and quarrying enterprises there. A visit to Kennall Vale is rewarded by a lovely walk along the river valley to a quaint road bridge with views of the old gunpowder factory. Great photo opportunity.

As you head back to the car park on your left you will see St. Stithians church which dates back to the 14th century and as you walk into the churchyard there is a magnificent Celtic Cross on the right.
